This author regularly uses DiffTools, CSpot, JEMS, and Electron Diffraction to analyze experimental spot, ring, and Kikuchi patterns. There are several commercial and free software packages available for the analysis of electron diffraction patterns. In this last installment, software packages are discussed, and results for testing the reproducibility and reliability of SAED data acquired with these procedures are given. The patterns will also be well-suited for use in electron diffraction analysis software packages. If the procedures are followed, the resulting SAED patterns will be well-calibrated and centered with good intensities for analysis.
